What is hydroponic farming?

The word hydroponic is derived from two Greek words, “hydro” meaning water and “ponos” meaning labour, and the meaning of the term hydroponic literally means water-working. This is a method originated in Israel, Hydroponic farming basically means growing plants without soil, and also growing plants directly with nutrient-rich water rather than soil. This type of farming can be done majorly in temperature controlled environment and through vertical indoor farming.

Unlike traditional farming, very few resources like water, oxygen, light, root support, and nutrients are required for hydroponic farming. The soil-less farming system can do wonders to the world.
